In order to continue on schedule for the completion of the 91st Avenue widening project, contractors will conduct closures of 91st Avenue from 8:30AM to 2:30PM. 91st Avenue will be closed in various sections from Van Buren Street to Roosevelt St daily.Traffic lights at Lillian Ln/McKinley St and Latham St will be replaced with stop signs, lights will be reinstalled at a later time.Periodically throughout the project, 91st Avenue will be closed to ensure the safety of workers, motorists and pedestrians. Please observe all construction signs and the instructions of onsite personnel. While every effort is being made to accommodate motorists in a timely manner, please plan for extra travel time during construction. All businesses will remain open during construction.We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience.

91st Avenue Widening Project Overview The City of Tolleson is currently widening 91st Avenue, between Van Buren and Interstate 10 to improve the entry to Tolleson, as well as Paseo de Luces and downtown businesses. Improvements include widening 91st Avenue from three to five lanes (two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane), curb, gutter, sidewalk and bus shelters.
Crews continue to work on 91st Avenue to widen and reconstruct the east side of the roadway which is scheduled to be completed sometime in June. Following work on the east side of 91st Avenue, crews will move to the west side of 91st Avenue. The project is scheduled to be completed in September 2018. It is expected that 91st Avenue will remain open for travel; however, traffic will be shifted away from the work zone. Please plan for extra travel time during construction. All businesses will remain open during construction.
